Evening Miscue

On the trip back to the ditch we found out that the 45 mile/hour wind had shifted some deeks, so while the re-designing of the spread was going on we had a repeat of this mornings first 40 minutes. A short lived rain shower almost gave way to dryer, softer seats at home in front of the TV, but they stuck it out. First group of workable, bigger ducks came from the north about 200 yds, "close up" is the call, in the act of closing up there were ducks coming from the South, at about 8 feet, one "filet-o-duck," courtesy of pattern master, dropped as the group from the North headed out on the sounds of shotgun blasts. One more in the bag for the night ending up with 6 total for the day. Again, no local geese observed and very few "bigger" ducks. With the weather changing tomorrow, we may get a few ducks floating in on the North wind. Work calls the next couple of days and it's a bit too early to call in with "duck" fever. Wednesday will be the next day in the ditch.
