Our Youth Waterfowl season has concluded and the boys shot 5 ducks and 2 coots. Yep, that's right, it's coot season in the Ditch. Suprisingly 2 of the 5 real ducks were gadwall. There are some pic's at the bottom of the page titled youth season 09. Saturday AM the boys unloaded 3 times and only managed to scrath 1 duck. Today was a different story. They shot 4 ducks (2 teal and 2 gadwall) and the 2 great tasting - fast flying - weed eating coots. Man them baby's taste good wrapped in bacon. Just a few more weeks left until it's time. Is everybody ready? We have some more new invaders into the bottoms and we've yet to see, or talk to anyone from the new ditch. They had backhoe's and box scrapers working this past week trying to get their pit's burried before the season starts. We are glad they are hunting this season, 'cause what we saw sitting there this spring was not a good site for those of us around. Last thing we need is new wetlands unhunted. Who would want that? No one wants the birds to stay around, or have a safe haven. Let's hunt every acre and keep 'em moving around.
That's all for now, check back for the latest and greatest and thanks for all the hits. Send us your report.
